How to Identify a Clothes Moth Infestation

The adult Clothes Moth (pictured top right) is small, golden (sometimes cream white) and very shy. They rarely venture away from their harbourage point and usually complete their full life cycle in a wardrobe or an area where textiles, fabrics or fibres are plentiful.

Adult Common Clothes Moths cannot feed and their sole purpose in life is to breed and lay eggs. A female Common Clothes Moth can lay upto 700 eggs in a life time. Once these eggs hatch the larvae attack our favourite garments, carpets and rugs and then enter their next life stage.

The Larvae then builds a web casing and lives here until it becomes a fully formed adult. The whole process is repeated and the infestation becomes worse.

We can exterminate Clothes Moths in Attics, Carpets, Floorboards, Wardrobes, Clothing, and Garments and fumigate all areas of any home or any business premises. We have worked with Global Brands and have an exceptional reputation in safely eradicating clothes moths.

Identifying Meal Moths

Indian Meal Moths reddish brown, larvae are usually yellow-white and webbing is always present where the insect is active.

Indian Meal Moths are usually found in the Kitchens living near or in stored food. We are able to control Meal Moths with an extremely effective non-toxic solution and fumigation process usually in two separate visits.

The Need for Professional Moth Control Treatments

Putting down repellents and deterrents when a moth infestation is already present will have a negative impact. It is essential that the protected area has no activity for these items to work. We usually recommend their use on completion of a structured treatment.

Our Moth Treatment Explained

Treatments for Moths vary according to what they are feeding on and the infestation rate. Fumigation, Smoke Generators, Spraying of various Insecticides are some of the application options we consider.

Our systematic treatment plan has been developed to coincide with the metamorphosis process of the Moth. Moth eggs are non-porous and so we require the use of residual insecticides to be applied in and around egg sites. This provides a layer of active insecticide able to eradicate any emerging larvae.

This process is repeated to ensure we are able to attack the following generation, ensuring we eradicate larvae capable of turning into adults and then breeding. Treatments in the winter and cooler months are staged slightly further apart as incubation periods are slowed down.

Will the Moths just Go Away?
